Prescription

Step 1

Look at your prescription. It, along with your optometrist, will tell you what help you need. The main question to ask is if you need help with your distance, intermediate or reading vision. This will dictate the type of lens you will go for.
• If you need help with one type of vision, then you will go for a single vision lens. This will either be distance, intermediate or reading.
• If you have problems with your reading and intermediate vision in a work place situation, then you might want to try an occupational lens.
• If you need help with both your near and distance vision you might want to try either a varifocal or a bifocal. If these options do not appeal, then you will need to get separate pairs of glasses for reading and distance.
• If you have a small prescription you might need help for small periods of time – focused tasks and when your eyes are tired.
